On Friday, November 30^th, Goodale & Barbieri Company celebrated the grand opening of their newest residential development, Sylvan Place, located on East Francis in North Spokane. This 15 unit project was sponsored by Frontier Behavior Health and funded by the HUD 811 program. The residents of Sylvan Place are low income persons with chronic mental illness. Goodale & Barbieri Company is also the management agent for the property, and was able to have the project fully occupied at the time of the grand opening.
 

According to Frontier Behavioral Health, “One issue consistently expressed by those with severe and persistent mental illnesses is their need for quality, safe and affordable housing.”  The goal of the HUD 811 program is to enable persons with disabilities, including mental illness, to live as independently as possible in the community by subsidizing rental housing opportunities which provide access to appropriate supportive services.
